Why would you expect "much filth and scuz"? What have you seen in your used filters?

I don't see what the issue is, unless you have some serious problem with your engine.

My old Accord is with my daughter at grad school and often goes a year on M1 EP, this time it will be slightly longer. For a while I used to cut open the filters just for fun but I stopped when they really didn't contain much at all.

Even my old Sienna doesn't put much in the filter although I've never run that for a year on the same filter.

Exactly. As posted just above yours:

My old LTD would have been theoretically a good long drain candidate, given that it was LPG and almost solely highway miles. Yet, it would burn a litre in 250 to 500 km, depending where I was in the OCI. So, something like M1 Annual or Amsoil SS (or vanilla M1 for that matter) would have been a recipe to send a student, like I was at the time, rocketing to the poor house.

I carried jugs of old used diesel engine 15W-40. Stop to fill gas, dump in a gallon of used oil.

Durable & fun to beat on, but with a 3" stroke had no torque whatsoever... ever
