I'm looking to have just one oil for my fleet. I've got a 2005 ford ranger with a 2.3L 88K miles. 2004 F150 5.4L with 150K miles. 2008 Chevy Tahoe 120K miles 4.8L. 2002 E350 Van with 230K miles. They all run great and are in good working order and they are all going to run about 30K miles a year. Here is my plan. I want to have an Oil change party about 2-3 times a year and put all of the vehicles on the same oil so I can keep things simple. I'm thinking Signature Series Amsoil and a wix filter with 15K OCI's. Only the chevy takes 5W30 and I was thinking of switching that to 5W20 or run the other vehicles with 5W30.

So here is the question. If you were trying to change the oil on all of these vehicles for your business what would you do to keep it simple?

Thanks,

M-1 5w20 EP (M-1 5w30 EP for Chevy).....and a Fram Ultra Filter.

M-1 EP oils are guaranteed for up to 15k....and the Fram Ultra is also a 15k filter.

The above would keep it real simple....with a quality oil and filter.

redline 5w20, has 3.3HTHS, should work fine in 5w30 applications

SInce your in AZ I would do 5w30 al around you can stock up on Napa Gold filters in bulk from Napa and then do Amsoil SS every 15k...that would probably be the most efficient route...

Yeah I should have mentioned that I have a ton of wix filters for all of the vehicles already. I'm thinking the 5w30 for the fleet will be the way to go and I think amsoil will be the way to go.

I'd get whichever 5w30 is on sale at the time of your party. There's always a $25 deal for 5qt + filter. Heck, if you time it right, you can take advantage of mail-in rebates and get a variety of oils for next to nothing. I've seen some pretty gnarly stashes from folks on here with oil they got for a dollar a quart.

Renewable Lube and a few others sell oil in 5 gallon buckets. See if you can find any of those locally.

Or just go all-out and get a 30-gallon drum of Amsoil and you're set for a long time!

depending on its condition that older van may have consumption issues if too thin of an oil is used.

I too standardized this last year. We are using a huge stash of M1 0w-40 and NAPA filters which we got on super sale.

Since there are no warranty issues with any of your vehicles, I think the choice of Amsoil 5w30 is a good one, and this is being written by a confirmed Mobil-1 user. Further, I use Baldwin or Toyota OE filters, but Wix certainly is an excellent filter choice. 5w30 for each...another great choice!
