OLM and oil filters?

I had forgotten about Honda and their recomendation to change the filter on every other oci. I knew the honda oil filters were nothing special, just as the acdelco filters. That gives me a bit more confidence to use a P1 or another filter on par with its quality for a full olm oci. Heck, that distance+ i got on there right now is probably good for 2 oci as per the olm.

The more I think about it, the better I feel about running a P1 x1 or extended drain filter x2 oci. I'm def. getting a filter cutter for inspections of filters and I'm going to get a used oil analysis done just to make sure all looks good for how my engine is wearing.

Strangly though the Fram boxes still show the older superior tapping plate design.

I wasn't aware that they removed the screen from the Tough Guard filters (not like it really matters... I always thought that was a crazy gimmick anyway).

I'm not surprised they show the old tapping plate design because the new one looks (and is) cheaper.

^^^^^Yeah, you'll note the screen over bypass they used to tout on the TG in the website advertising is no longer mentioned. Also another member posted a dissected TG last year, and the screen was no more, same now as orange can. Guess it wasn't as valuable/effective as they advertised.

Agree with you on the new tapping plate, be interesting to see when or if they change the box picture.
