I saw a retinologist after I had my eye stroke. Some ophthalmologists specialize in the front cornea and cataracts and some specialize in the back of the eye with the retina. I go every 6 to 12 months for a glaucoma screening to a regular ophthalmologist as I'm at higher risk now due to the eye stroke. Luckily, after about 20 visits, they only done diagostics. I've never received any treatments.
