I have two diesel engines, a CAT 3126B with HEUI injector system and a Perkins powered diesel tractor, ~150 cid, 2003 year model. They both get intermittent use and the MH may sit for months without use. Both are garaged year 'round.

What is the best treatment for the diesel fuel in these applications?

Diesel fuel does not seam to go bad like gasoline, it will have a very long time that it will remain useable, the main problem with diesel is algae growth. Water content would be your next concern.

Fill the tanks all the way up, use Biobor JF if any signs of trouble arise. The black fungus grows at the interface between fuel & water, so the less water you have, the less places for it to grow. Full tanks mean no (or very little) condensation.

1) Get the water out, and keep it out
2) Use a biocide/algaecide
3) I personally like to add a lubricant additive

The diesel fuel in my 68 JD3020 is over 10 years old, fuel filters have a drain on the bottom of them for water. I use the biocide treatment and marvel in it.
