None of these HM oils are going to cause any type of seal issue at all, new or used. It's the aftermarket additive one shot type products that can cause problems.

A moderator did that. The main reason I wanted a HM oil was for the cleaning properties to remove the previous owner's neglect/sludge. But now I'm worried about the seal conditioners damaging something. Oh well. I'll do a UOA report and see what it says, and then decide.

And yeah I was curious if the HM could be run in a brand-new engine. (Guess not.)
 
Hey brotha,
if you just use a quality synthetic and change it every 3,000 miles about about four times that will have the same effect. Then you can go ahead and start running 7,000OCI or more depending on your usage patterns and engine conditions.
