There is almost no debating, that one of the most recomended fuel system addatives for continuas use, on these boards, is FP60... So, on that recomendation, I've decided to order some. Just bought a gallon... i'll compare milage on FP60 to records from using straight gas, and gas+mmo...

question: Can I use both FP60 and MMO together? or is that a bad idea. I just like the idea of the "upper cylinder lube" that the mmo might offer.

believe me you won't be sorry since using that and acetone i have gotten concistantly 23-25 mpg on my 98 vic..and all the other stauff i use etc. redline, lubecontrol, sfr, sx-up,fleetguard oil filter, baldwin air filter, accurate mach works oil separator....all this maintenance is well worth it

I've never tried MMO. It's funny because I've had a quart of MMO sitting in the garage for as long as I can rememeber. Someday I might.

As far as FP60 goes, I am satisfied. Besides a smoother-running engine, I have noticed about a 2 mpg increase on a short-term average. Only rarely do I see really high mileage on a given tank - so that's not what boosted my mileage. However, there are far fewer fillups where I've gotten poor mileage. So my overall better mileage has brought up my averages. And I'm not just barking here, I keep a spreasheet with graphs and everything!

I have a similar question but only for reasons of dispensing into the tank because of the convenient bottle I currently use for adding 6 oz./tank of MMO. If I mix the two together, would the two chemistries be compatible?

FWIW, I use a 12-oz. ketchup/mustard dispenser bottle made of "flexible (LD???) polyethylene" with one of those nifty plastic screw-on shutoffs which they happen to sell at Schuck's (mine came from a bulk Costco Green Cleaner package they used to sell). Very handy, though if the bottle is LDPE that might be a snag... But it's not in there too long, two weeks' maximum.

I have used the two together and no noticable harm, both are safe on the number 2 plastic, look at the bottom of the MMO bottle, I gues that is HDPE. Acetone however will melt the MMO bottle in about a day or two. So you are not mixing any real harsh solvents together when you do this it seems to me.

The dispenser bottle bottom just has a "7" with no three-arrowed triangle around it. Not sure what type of PE it is.

I figure the two chemistries are compatible with each other but you never know. The MMO might do something chemically deleterious to the FP60 or vice-versa, it never hurts to ask...

mdocod,
I don't see anything wrong with mixing FP60 and MMO. However, I don't ever plan on doing it myself. I would be afraid that MMO might cut down on the effectiveness of Fuel Power.

Our family recently ran out of FP60 for about three months. Until we ordered another gallon jug of Fuel Power, we used MMO in our gasoline and diesel powered vehicles. When our new supply of Fuel Power came in, I almost could not believe the difference in vehicle performance. We were only out for about three months yet there was a noticeable improvement in our equipment.

Unless Terry or Molakule can recommend a better product, I don't plan on ever being without FP60 again.

I will say that part of the fun of using products such as MMO and Fuel Power is the thrill of exploring what works and what doesn't. Try it and report back to us here on what your findings are.

MY FP60 should be coming today(ordered Dec 31!..took a lot longer than I thought it would, hope it is worth the wait).

I have been using Lucas UCL and have been pleased with it.

On the mixing question...I plan on using the Lucas UCL bottle to dispense the FP60....any issues with mixing the 2 of them? There is a little bit of the Lucas still coating the inside of the bottle

FP60 in my '99 Jeep GC with the 4.7L motor produced no change in MPG, nothing, nada, zip, zero. Runs exactly the same as it did prior to using the stuff. The Jeep has 65000 miles on it BTW. What gives?

Still waiting...looks like Fedex Ground may have lost my order...still showing on truck from 2 days ago!

Guess I will keep using Lucas UCL until it comes if ever

Blue Goose:

The FP60 has to be IN the tank before there is any remote hope of the vehicle going any faster (not that they claim it will, anyway).

The fact that the FP60 is in a box sitting IN the FedEx truck does not necessarily make the truck (or delivery) go faster!

What exactly were you expecting?

I began using FP60 eight tankfuls ago, changed the NGK sparkplugs, the PCV, the air filter, started an Auto-Rx "wash" cycle, and I'm using an M-1 oil filter. With 57k on my 2001 Infiniti, ain't a thing has changed. Performance, mpg, zero to sixty time, nada. But I'm going to do the "rinse" cycle in another 350 miles and continue to use the FP60. Only time (and maybe a UOA) will tell. Hang in there!

Lol thanks for the encourgement guys...I would think that it would have been delivered by now if it was not vaporware..truck is only so big.

they are doing a trace on it now and should find out today if they lost it.

No reason really other than to try it out....do you guys who use Lucas add it every tank?(2-3oz)

I've used a gallon of FP60 between my LS1 Camaro SS and Jeep Wrangler. I logged mpg before and after the use of the FP. Nothing changed and was over a 6 month period of time. I didn't think a noticeable difference would be there but wanted to try anyway. The engines did seem to idle a little smooter with the FP though. My take of FP is that it might show results on a neglected vehicle in the cleaning out the CC's head etc.... but will probably just restore the performance the car should have in the first place. Terry Dyson says it works so I hope it does in keep the CC's, valves, ports etc clean.

I'm trying FP right now also, I ordered the smaller 32oz bottle to try it out and see if I want to order the full gallon. So far no noticeable increase in MPG, car runs well, though. If I don't get an increase in MPG by the end of my bottle, I'm going to probably go with MMO or Lucas UCL for dosing each tank as there is a benefit even if I don't see an increase in MPG and those products are cheaper and easy to obtain locally.

Ok I just checked with Fedx...looks like they sent my package from Londonderry NH to CT and back to NH?

Way to go guys...someone was sleeping putting my package on the wrong conveyor...out for delivery today.

I'll give it a shot, if I don't notice much difference I'll probably stick with the Lucas as it is easier to obtain locally and my engine seems to like the stuff

But maybe it will like the FP60 better

I noticed that my gallon of FP60 was leaking when it arrived at my house.

Has anybody else had a leaky bottle?

My quart appeared a little bit leaky at the top like a liittle had run down the side but the peanuts may have absorbed the little bit that may have come out. Not bad or a mess though

this stuff smells! The Lucas hardly smells at all but this stuff smells pretty solventy!(is that word)?
