172,000 miles. I like StevieC's suggestion, a good conventional 10W40 oil and some MMO run it for 3000 miles, then switch to a HM mile and enjoy! MMO conditions seals as well, check out their site.

I hear ya but did he comment on all High Mileage oil's? some may or may not have more.

It was a general comment that most do not have a significant ester content because of the cost. It's cheaper to use other additives that condition seals I think were the words he used.

StevieC, not doubting you, but how does someone find out how much ESTER CONTENT is in an oil, will a ( PDS ) Product Data Sheet on a particular oil show the Ester Content. I have heard Redline Oil's have a high Ester Content and Mobil 1 does have some ESTERS.
