Oil Score!

Got my some PYB - 10x individual 5w30 litre sized for $1.00 each at Real Great Canadian Super Store in Grimsby.

It was reduced with a bunch of other auto stuff that they aren't carrying anymore.

I'm purposely not buying oil because I have way too much already and then sales like these pop up. Then I think... I'm not sure I like the new GF-5 specs dropping Zinc/Phos in oils further so then I buy it.

I only started stashing when I joined BITOG. In that short time since I've aquired 2 5 quart bottles of PP @ $19 and 5 quarts of Syntec (with free Castrol cap) @ $28. Its already becoming a compulsion when I visit WM and see something good on a nice rollback, to grab at least a 5 quart jug of it (just it case they don't roll it back again).

If the current Supertech dino lasts much longer ($7 for 5 quarts) I'll be adding a few jugs of that soon too.

It doesn't help that when my apartment was renovated, they laid a floor down over where the stair case ended upstairs. Each step is almost designed as a ready made oil shelf. 14 or so steps... lot of oil storage (and I think it'd look pretty cool filled up, so long as there's never a fire here - then I'm toast, in the literal sense).

Someday, I'm gonna turn on the tube, there will be Stevie on the latest edition of Hoarders, Buried Alive. He'll be scooting sideways down a very narrow passageway with oil boxes stacked on both sides, floor to ceiling, muttering "I know I have some Valvozoil here somewhere..."

API SN/GF-5 leaves Zn/Phos. numbers exactly the same - there is just a test for how well they stay in the oil.

I know I was saying this is what I'm telling myself so that I have justification to buy the oil...
