Oil Refining in Hawaii

Hawaii has a refinery on Oahu, just west of Pearl Harbor. Its owned by Par Pacific. With the problems with Russia, it stopped importing oil from from Russia and found another supplier. That supplier is Canada, made possible by the recently completed Trans Mountain pipeline that originates near Edmonton, Alberta and goes to Vancouver, (Burnaby actually). There is a shipment of over a half million bbls on its way right now.

Another factoid on Par Pacific is that last year it purchased the Exxon Mobil refinery in Billings, Montana.

Interesting scenario.
Do you know--would oil refined there be blended & bottled into motor oil or gasoline or whatever, in Hawaii? Or would it then be shipped somewhere else to be turned into a consumer product? I gotta think that it with all the capacity for both refining & bottling in the 48, that it would only make financial sense to ship oil there, and then to refine it, if it is going to be sold locally.

I'd bet the oil company would send just the fractions needed to make a limited range of products.
