Holly Frontier changes name to HF Sinclair

Remember the big green Dinosaur? Although it’s old news that Holly Frontier purchased Sinclair, early last year, it changed its name to HF Sinclair. It trades on the NYSE as DINO.

I noticed this while looking at a shipment of Canadian crude oil from Vancouver, BC to the Anacortes area of Puget Sound in Washington. An oil tanker moved a half million bbls of crude a distance of 150 miles and unloaded at Anacortes.

HF Sinclair operates a refinery there that was the Shell Anacortes refinery prior to being purchased by Holly Frontier. There is also a Marathon refinery near Anacortes.

Another factoid relevant to Canadian Bitoggers is that HF Sinclair owns the products division that manufacters motor oil and other lubricants for Petro-Canada.

They put the dinos at the Sinclair stations in and near B-ham late last year.
