Oil recommendation for my turbo Neon

Gotcha.
Also I am thinking about running 1/2 a can of SeaFoam for the first time in a vac port leading to my throttle body before the oil change and pouring the rest in my gas tank. I am leaning towards the M1 0w-40.

Some of them think that due to them having a turbo. Plus 85% of NSRT-4 owners drive the [censored] out of their cars.

I know, thats why I said what I said. They THINK their engines will grenade. I have a UOA of GC in my 2.4l that saw some roadcourse miles(200+) and then 2700 miles of daily driving, and it came back great. Turbo or not, I feel our motors are fairly easy on oil.

Not at all. The recommended oil specs from the manufactur are right. The SRT-4 is modded from the manufacturer. Your will be just fine with what is recommended in your owners manual. Run Mobil,or PP 10W30 in the summer and 5W30 in the winter like the manufacturer specs and you will be just fine with your driving habits that you've posted.

I ended up going with some 10w-30 PP ($20.50 on sale at Wally World) and a Fram Extended Guard filter. Never ran a 10w-30 in this car before so we shall see how it likes it.
Yeah the Mopar Stage 3 upgrade is a factory upgrade and these motors are indeed stout.

Amsoil SSO = Signature Series Oil 0w-30. Amsoil tends to go by their letter coding, which doesn't stand for anything in all cases particularly. It happens to here though.

PP = Penzoil Platinum, correct.

RT6 = Rotella T6

M1 TDT = Mobile 1 Turbo Diesel Truck

GC = German Castrol

O...K....

That's one of the last oils I'd pick from the ones we've kicked around on this thread, just a solid Group III daily-driver type synthetic, but it's probably good enough. Given the power/CID of the Stage III though, I'd want something better.

Dont forget they have an oil cooler and squirters and sounds like he keeps the oil change intervals pretty conservative.

I use 5w-30 Amsoil winter for about 7K miles and a couple changes during the summer of 5w-30 PP or whatever other syn I have in my basement in my 03GT with stage 1 and a few other mods.

With him having stg 3 as long as he doesnt lean it out, it wont matter what oil he has in their IMHO if he is changing every 3-4K miles.
