To the OP:
What didn't you like about the RP or Mobil 1 Extended Performance?

RP was the first oil I switched to as soon as the motor broke in, around 2k mi. I noticed that it burned off a lot before 3k mi. I had to put in about a quart in between. So I switched to Mobil 1 Extended Performance. Its a good oil and the burnoff was noticeably less. Im just looking for better alternatives that offer excellent protection, maximum performance, and cleansing abilities. Since I've heard so many good things about PP, why not try PU next?

GC is too thick IMO and would make the motor feel sluggish. It did so in my S2000.

Also, I recommended Amsoil along with Redline and PU in my post above.

Thanks, those sound like excellent recommendations. I think I'll run Redline in the summer since thats when I really get on the car, and PU in the winter.

Thats good to know. I ran the Big Yellow gallon Jug of SM that was closed out at advance AP for 7 bucks a jug, it was a very smelly oil - prob used the old style EPDM derived VII. I got good/best fuel mileage with Pennzoil conventional though, but it seemed to shear to "water" when I tromped on it for more than a couple minutes. I'm Talking wide open throtttle 4-6 grand in second and third gear for about 5-10 minutes.

I had a 2007 Civic Si and I used Mobil 1 car/truck 5w30 and then normal Mobil 1 5w30. For comparison, my brother also has the same car (later build date) and he runs Kendal semi-syn 5w30 from a local shop (might be in a bulk drum) and in my opinion his car was quieter than mine by a significant margin but no difference in performance that I could tell...

I dropped the factory fill early on my Civic for the Mobil 1--something I did not do on my next Honda (Accord 3.5l with Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20).

I ran the Civic on a few trips between 550-725 miles and was getting--sit down--35MPG plus with Mobil 1 with about 20K on the clock.
