Most Subaru's like thicker oil: 5w-40/10w-40.It's even recommended in your owners manual.

It's actually only recommended above a certain temperature (can't remember it off the top of my head) that we typically don't reach in this part of the country.

However, obviously, I'm going to a heavier oil next change.
