Hi All,

Former Subaru WRX owner and a big fan of Rotella T6. Living in Houston I found the oil did well in the heat and stood up to spirited driving year round. I was wondering if anyone here would recommend running T6 in the V70R?

Any other recommendations? Car has 148k miles.

T6 is a good oil, but no longer gas rated if that matters to you. Delvac, Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck and Delo 5w40's still are though.

I would personally look no further than a 0w40.

Mobil 1 0W40.

I've got a couple of used oil analysis on my T5 (same block, a bit lower boost #s than your R model) with that oil, and it does very well in that engine series. It's also very reasonably priced if bought on Amazon or at Walmart.

You could use Castrol EDGE 0W40 for the PAO content if you really want the 0W40.

I would try Delo 400 SD 15W30. I've seen it mentioned here a few times on BITOG and it seems to be pretty stout.

They are SM, which the T6 could pass for. They have a line of products that comply with SN, so they don't bother to do dual rated stuff on their HD stuff.
So, the lack of the gas cert simply means they can not pass P<800 for the SN, not that you can't use the oil in a gasser.
