9" wouldn't hold up for what I do. Yes it's shaved, not just grinded down smooth but shaved, enough to where I had to turn down the ring. my ground clearence isn't much worse than yours. Dropping the drums sheds ~100lbs, plus it's unsprung weight anyways. Sorry but I'd much rather hiline my fenders than lift it more! I can clear 44" easy with a SOA (~5-6") plus I have full widths. Much more stabil.

Either way the front of the bellhousings a good 3" lower than the bottom of he gearbox. And a smaller DIA clutch/flywheel + dry sump would allow me I lower my motor 3-4" and still retain my flat belly. I could then also tilt my hood for better vision!

Well, I don't think a 9" would hold up for what you do, with the drivetrain you run. That's not to say it wouldn't hold up in other applications. There are plenty of comp buggies running around on Hi-9's.

Actually, that's what I recommended:

I'd be more worried about that boat anchor 14 bolt. I'm assuming you shaved that pig? I ended up choosing a 9"(future HP center section) over a 14 bolt for weight savings and clearance. Then again, I don't run alot of motor.

Please post a pic of your belly. Even with a 12" clutch, I just can't picture the bellhousing hanging 3" lower than a NV4500.

You should check out portel tek's super 14, developed b/c so many TT are snapping hi9's
