Oil level sensor replacement

I need to replace the oil level sensor on a GM 3.1L V6 engine.

My questions are most importantly, where is it? And, what is involved in removing it? I'm hoping someone else has done this in the past as I can't imagine it is too complicated.

The sensor is mounted on the oil pan for 3.1L engine.

Okay, that's what I thought that sensor was but some searching online only served to confuse me, read a few things saying it was halfway up the pan, etc.

Should be simple.

That's for the 3.8. They're halfway up the front side of the pan.

3.1's are easy to do.
