Picked up new RX330 the other day and am trying to decide on the oil to use. The dealer and manual say 5k mile OCI. Dealer said synthetic oil is a waste for such a OCI and that synthetic is really not better than quality dino since both oils get dirty (I think he forgot about the purpose of the oil filter). Given that this is a toyota engine that tends to run fairly hot, I was thinking of using a semi-synthetic at 5k OCI. I didn't know if a full synthetic is overkill for this situation. Thoughts?

Second, if I go with a semi, I was thinking of possibly using Mobil clean 7500. Any other semis to consider for this application? Thanks.

Congrats on the new wheels!
Great car, why not use great oil to match?
Yeah, I'd use $5 quart oil to protect my forty grand investment. Use M1 and it's only four dollars a quart. False economics not to.
Enjoy the ride!
