You do intend to pay the capitol gain$ tax on this transaction, of course?

Cheers!

p.s. I will agree that if something is "too good to use" one should consider getting rid of it: I'm sure there is someone out there who could find it in their heart to actually use your Dad's Corvette.

I would love to own a car like that and I'm not a corvette fan either. I like big block power. I have a 70 Monte Carlo with a 396 BB in it and it is fun to drive but at about 10 mpg, putting gas in it gets expensive. I'm just running 10W-40 white bottle Valvoline in it with a zinc additive. I don't drive mine much either but I've had the car for almost 25 years and it has a lot of sentimental value.

10w30 or 10w40 hdeo
20w50 is too heavy it makes the bearings run hotter it gets you worse gas mileage and it robs hp

Have an oil pressure gauge on it? The VR1 10w30 would be my choice if it's keeping up good pressures.

I am going to give you my unsolicited opinion, former Ranger. Hold on to that unloved car until you are ready to retire before you sell it. The value will continue to appreciate tax free, and it may make a world of difference to you. The older you get, the more your perspectives change, and what was once unwanted can become much desired.
