oil flow question; aftermarket cooler and remote filter mount

I am mounting an engine oil cooler on the roll bar the bed of my Pick up, approximately 6' away from the oil hoses coming out of the engine. I am adding a remote oil filter off of the same hoses. I was wanting to use -12an hoses and ports. The cooler advertised -14 ports but came with -10 orb ports. Is it ok stepping down to -10orb from -12an into the cooler? Then stepping back up out of the cooler from -10orb to -12an?

You're referring to the size of the hose in the above quote, no?

I went to a fitting website to get a grasp of your situation.
The sizing numbers they use are new to me.
Aside from adapting sizes (takes more space, higher chance of leakage), I'd bet the oil will just flow.
Are oil coolers sized with gallon per minute numbers?

Hoses coming out of the engine? Do you you have a remote oil filter mount or something where oil hoses come out of the engine and you want to tie into those?

Is this cooler just taking some of the oil flow from the engine, or is it all going to to through the cooler after a thermo-valve opens and diverts it all to the cooler? The basic idea is to keep the pressure drop down as low as possible. What does the cooler manufacturer recommend for hose sizes (inside diameter) to and from the cooler with it being that far away?
