Oil filter update.

I've updated my site with filter areas. Nothing too suprising, the Fram was the worst, Purolator was the best. It did shed some light on filter construction though. Most filters held up well after cutting out a center strip of paper. The Fram however was completely destroyed. As soon as the filter material is damaged, the cartridge looses it's structure, and more easily be damaged further.

Works for me. Maybe i just got lucky?

Anyway, good study. Interesting to see since i have the aforementioned 3800. Just based upon heft and price, i've picked the Purolator Pure One PF52 equiv. I would have liked some Delco UPF52s, but the local dealer only had the PFs and shipping isn't worth it to me.

Scary about the Fram using an octagon cardboard plate to allow oil flow. Sounds like a recipe for restriction.
