All right SMH all day, but am I missing the dirty engine pictures somewhere? The post I quoted said "For having only 44k on the OD, it looked rather dirty". What has 44k miles that looks dirty? Surely the filter doesn't have 44k miles on it, correct?

If I am missing the (dirty) engine pictures somewhere I apologize, but I can't find them.

Yes, I saw the filter pictures thanks. So it is just filters then and no evidence of a dirty engine?

So the engine is being "cleaned" but no one knows what it looked like before the cleaning, nor did anyone know if it even needed cleaning in the first place?

Without knowing that how does anyone know if this cleaning regimen did anything?

At this point you are just nitpicking and being dense. What you think or how you feel about something doesn't matter because it isn't your car.

OP is taking on the situation how he sees fit.

If the engine is "dirty" then simply looking into the oil fill hole on the valve cover should reveal if there is any build up of sludge, or other deposits. I have seen filters with similar what looks like carbonized chunks of 'crud' trapped in the filter that looked pretty darn clean inside the valve covers.

Thank you Z06! That's exactly what we did. And, a Ford tech ran a bore scope into the oil fill tube and said it looked like "some" sludge, but, mostly thick varnish. We don't know how much was there before, but, he suggested to keep doing what we are doing and it will eventually clean it out.

I just returned from taking my son a used phone. He broke the screen on his. All of the above in my reply happened at about 8:30 this AM.
I wanted to go to also see the funeral procession for 1 of the 3 Baton Rouge officers that was killed in the line of duty on July 17th. It was so sad. May God keep his soul in Heaven, and may his family stay strong from here on out! God Bless all 3 of the officers.

Sure that makes sense now that you've included that previously left out bit of information. And what's with the constant "SMH"? Just like ZeeOSix asked and posted even before I did, a few bits of stuff in a filter does not a dirty engine make. Guess you somehow didn't "SMH" at that for some reason.

I am SMH because you seem to think my post needs to be to your exact expectations. Well, I chose to post what I did based upon MY conclusion to this problem. It seems everyone else knew what MY post meant! If there is a problem with the way I post something, then by all means, don't reply. SMFH!
