Oil Filter Photos And Comments

Something seems fishy here. Why these pictures continue to be promoted as a reason to buy this product is beyond me. This is a major turn-off to potential users. This sends a bad message.

As Bill said Falcon_LS is not the concern.

In fact, I'd like to welcome Falcon to BITOG. There are alot of interesting data here about this and many other products which hopefully you will enjoy. I think I speak for all of us when I say we look forward to more of these discussions. Don't worry about the picture quality, we appreciate your efforts.

I do have one question: in your first post, you said,

And in the above post, you said

"The oil filter was cut open by the technician at the service centre. I asked him to open it up, so that the filter medium can be pulled out without getting damaged...he apparently didn't understand that, so cut it open in half."

So was it you or the attendant who cut the filter open? Or am I not understanding something?

Why are you guys beating the heck out of Frank? Look at the filter media. It is jet black with carbon. Auto-RX is a excellent product that I have used with confidence. You want some proof that it works with amatuer pictures. Stay tuned I have some coming in the next day or two. I have a supertech filter that is cut open with all kinds of loose depostits and black fitlter media that came from just the maintenance dose of this product. It seems every time Frank posts there is a negative responses to his remarks. How would you like to be in business in these fun economic times? Give the guy a break. He is a site sponsor and this site is free. How often is other site sponsors bashed around like Frank is. None. Oh by the way I am on the way to order two more bottles becuase it works for me.

Nobody is saying that ARX doesn't work and nobody is wanting 'proof,' there is just something strange about Frank's wanting to use these as evidence that the product does something and then, after several comments about picture quality defending them as evidence. This kind of thing looks bad on a site with standards as high as ours are and I think that's why people are a little up in arms. Naturally, I wish Frank and his business the best and I respect his product, but this is no way to win friends and influence people.

And BTW, I don't think I've ever cut open a filter that wasn't black and I've cut open a few.
 
I respectfully disagree with the comment about nobody is saying his product is questionable. You can read between the lines of the posts and feel the unmistakeable qusestions posters have about his product. Notice the people that question the Piture Quality are the posters that seldom if ever use his product. If you do not want to use then do not. This is a free site and will not be free much longer if site sponsors are treated in this manner.

If users of this board aren't allowed to question a sponsor about his/her product(s), then there wouldn't be many members here. I see lots of folks questioning Blackstone analysis', whether EA oil/air filters are worth the money, etc., so Frank and ARX aren't the only ones being asked for clarification.

Another excellent point. I pay for 13.99 a month for XM radio that I barely use. 20 bucks a month for online movies that I maybe watch 3 or 4x times a month. If BITOG asked me for a monthly fee of even 19.99 a month, that would still be bargain for how much information one can glean here. Heck, most of us blow that much on a pizza feed for the family.

Huh??? I was the first person on this thread to "question the Piture Quality". For you to say, they "are the posters that seldom if ever use his product.", is so presumptuous, that I have trouble knowing where to begin! Ok... I'll try and start here; I have personally used ARX in four different cars, two of which have received more then two treatments. I have cut open all of the filters used during the treatments, as well as about ten other filters from various OCIs. I have never said, or written anything disparaging about Frank or Auto-RX. I have only ever pointed out when comments or photographs inconclusively boast about Auto-RX's performance. We are not attacking Frank or his product. If anything, we are trying to help the man by giving him very sound marketing advice. To put it bluntly, Frank has very poor marketing sense, and no matter how good his product is, he will never expand his market share by using photographs like these. I am not saying he needs to hire a professional photographer, but if wants to help his cause, he ought to use images that adhere to basic quality principals.... like sharp focus.

For the sake of discloser, I am professional photographer with over 20 years of experience and I also teach photography at a college level. As such, I sometimes get carried away when see people praising poor photography. But, in this case I think I'm justified. Believe it or not, when we post these kinds of critical comments we are doing so with Frank's best interests at heart.

There is much you do not know. Most of your veteran BITOG members are well versed in the value and/or benefits of using Auto-Rx. You've either used it ..or you haven't. You've been here months or even years and have seen and heard what it can do. Perhaps you're tired of hearing another post from Frank. Suppose the post isn't for your benefit? There are thousands of people that view this site daily that aren't regular members. I have software that tells who clicks through this site to mine and can track quite easily the interest produced with posts here. Many are from overseas as is evidenced by increase inquiries from foreign nations. Falcon LS is one such new customer.
I pay a sponsor fee to promote my product and I intend to get my money's worth out of it. You may not agree with my style or my demeanor. As far as my apparent "shortness", well that's a byproduct of having to do too much with too little time. It's been commented that I do myself a disservice. I'll say that you need to let me be the judge of that and you need not participate in any "group feedback" for my own good. You may be dealing with one short SOB for the 3 days after my chemo injection. I probably shouldn't post during those days, but since I'm the only one running the show I don't have that option. If it cost me, I'm the one paying the bills.

In fact, I'd like to see some OTC product that doesn't have a good dose of marketing into any testing performed either in house or so called independent. Most don't have any testing and rely on the parent company name to carry the product. Please show me anything other than a motor oil from a major manufacturer that doesn't integrate marketing in with alleged results. You buy Rislone because of the name that's been with you for decades. You may not even know why. It's the same with Marvel Mystery Oil. People buy it yet can not really provide any definitive across the board benefits that can be boxed up and put on a graph and plotted. Yet I'm a hustler and a carnival side show hawker??

I may not be the best PR or PC or CS person out there, but I'm all that there is.
While you're at it, check out most of your money back guarantees. If it's not from another retailer like Wall Mart or whomever, you'll get a hassle. I had a mis-delivery from DHS the other day. The forms that they wanted me to fill out to make my claim would take more time than my loss covered, yet the customer got their product resent on my dime. No fancy forms. No hassle. No excuses. My apologies for not meeting your standards of running the company that's marketing the product of my creation.

For what must be the fifth time, nobody is saying your product doesn't work. You are not being victimized.

If this board is nothing but something you get your money's worth out of, then so be it. That statement spoke volumes.

Now I'm going to do something Bill in Utah had the smarts to do yesterday. I'm going to wash my hands of this thing and leave. You need friends, Frank, and that's what we were trying to be.
