As many of you may have noticed, I have not been very active on BITOG lately. That is largely in part to serving out my SECOND suspension, levied against me by anonymous moderators. This time, I was banned for 2 weeks for, and I quote, "bashing Fram oil filters." Apparently my next suspension will be permanent. Now, lets be honest here. Everyone has their own favorite oil filter. There are those out there who love Purolator, Fram, Wix, Baldwin/Hastings, etc. and naturally, we give each other a hard time about it, all in good nature of course. Zeeosix and I go back and forth, but it is all in good fun and I hold him in the highest regard for being the leader of the Frampires (thats a joke dont suspend me) and never shying away from a good round of friendly discourse! That being said, am I really to believe that "bashing" any brand of oil filter is grounds for expulsion? And for goodness sake, did anyone else get suspended for bashing Purolator??? Doesn't seem that way!

I love my frams and I do hate tearolators but that's my opinion and you have one as well and I'm guessing it's different and I'm also guessing there was more to the story. You can't be banned for having an opinion. That's just crazy!

No that literally is all that it said. I woke up to BITOG telling me, "The Fram bashing has to stop. The next suspension will be permanent." There is no more to the story. I was apparently "bashing" filters and got suspended for it. That is pretty low in my opinion. Im just here to try and inform everyone that you can get booted off an oil filter website for talking...about....oil filters?
I like them both. You could always start jk_636 is the oil guy.com, lol a little rebellion might be needed.
You can't rightly have a BITOG if you don't have the OCOD radicals.
Like I wrote before, I'd use the OCOD on all my cars just to spite your type but my oil filter doesn't grip them as well as the Bosch filters I get from Amazon.
I'd think that reasons for suspensions should be reserved for personal attacks, insults, cursing, or being a jerk in general. Passion for a $5 car part might be hard for me to understand but it seems in line with the goals and mission of this webpage.
In conclusion: Free JK and long live the orange can!

And how would I go about doing that? Apparently, when you get suspended, the moderators name is not attached to it, so I have no way of getting in touch with them or having input in the matter. If they are going to start banning people for "bashing" oil filters, then it would stand to reason that all participants in the oil filter forum know to watch their P's and Q's. I've used, and continue to use Fram oil and air filters for the last 40 years. I see zero reason not to continue to use them.

I used to think Z06 was an authority but recently found out he's just another run-of-the-mill fanboy.
Don't take it so hard. It's just an Internet forum. I do find it strange you were put in (what I call) a time out for bashing Fram. They're not even a sponsor. Every time I write Fram it comes up as a spelling error! LOL!
If people were banned for bashing Royal Purple the membership would be cut in half.

I used to be pro purolator, and a fram basher, but gave up shouting into the abyss, and when the tears started showing up, i switched to Wix, and haven't looked back. I am even using Fram Ultras on my buddies vibe, since we don't get together quite often enough, and we'd gone close to 8 k a couple times on P1's that turned out to have tears.

i am a twice cash donor and have been briefly banned for expressing my athiest beliefs in a rather crude manner because frankly that is the way i am. on that note, i also realize after running and participating on forums for over two decades that it is the owners prerogative and not a democracy. enjoy the internet. oh, and there is no god. and no purolator had legitimately been torn except by amateur backyard tribologists. send your filter directly to purolator for non biased analysis.

There is a thread for discussing religion and I get suspended for expressing my thoughts on an oil filter? Hmmmm....Lets see, which one is more offensive, bashing someones preference in religion or preferred car part? Cpt what you just said is offensive to a lot of people and not to mention, is off topic, but that doesn't mean you should get banned for it...but if you dont hear from me again after today, you know what happened.
