Oil Extractor Pump Recommendations

I bought a manual pump one from harbor freight and modified it to use it with my small air powered vacuum pump, also harbor freight. I pulled the vacuum release out of the hole, put a hose there then to the vacuum pump and she works great. Use the handle pump for little things and vacuum for atf.

How is this one holding up? I'm thinking if you just prime the inlet every time before you use it with a tablespoon of oil it should last.

I use it for annual changes on a hassle-to-drain car, so it hasn't seen more than a handful of use, but I'm due again soon. Don't expect it to give any problems, but I'll remove the cover again to make sure everything is lubed, corrosion-free and spinning freely.

Even when it seized up the first time after I cleaned it too well, the motor didn't burn up instantly, so it's not glass-jaw fragile.

I have as much, if not more confidence in it, than the manual plastic vacuum vessel extractors for reasons already stated.

Years ago I bought one of the original manual, vertically standing extractors. It worked great until I made the mistake of leaving fluid in it, at which point it no longer worked. The internet said there was a fix, but that didn't bring it back to life.

More recently I bought the Liquivac. Works decently for transmission fluid, my main use these days.

I've been successfully using Pela 6000 for 8 years now, these manual vacuum pumps are hustle free, simple and sturdy, but lately it became slower, I need to pump often to maintain the vacuum.

So I've just ordered the "professional" version, Pela 650, the reviews say it works faster. It's due to arrive next week, I hope it's worth the extra price.

Pela is a reputable brand from the Netherlands, I know a few people using it.
