Oil Dri vs. the rest

There is nothing better to use. You can even pull up oil out of porous concrete after sitting for weeks by grinding it into dust with your foot over the stain. Unfortunately, the side effects aren't worth it in an enclosed space. Can't sweep it up slowly or even vacuum it without covering everything in sight with the dust. Even sitting on the floor any draft or air movement seems to kick it up. Not to mention breathing the crap in. What are you using as an alternative?

I agree with the OP. I've tried cat litter, powdered detergent, Dawn, etc. Whatever.

A bag of oil-dry from the parts store works like no other. I put it down, grind it in with my shoe for 2-3 minutes and let it sit....until I blow it away days later. Stain gone.

I use ashes. They work great for picking up oil. They also work great on snow/ice for traction instead of sand.

Best part is they are free!

Just my $0.02
