I went into a Circle K store recently, and while I was waiting in line, I heard the cashier talking to a customer in front of me about whether or not he uses synthetic oil, and whether the cashier should use synthetic oil in his own vehicle. One of them mentioned that he used to use it in his Eclipse. When I approached the counter, he asked me if I used synthetic oil. As I was preparing to answer, a lady behind the counter, who had been doing paperwork, whirled around and said, "Synthetic oil is supposed to be for older cars," and said it would keep their engines cleaner or something.

I said, "I use conventional oil in my older cars."

The cashier said, "Conventional oil..." and laughed. I went on my merry way.

Just stay away from QS and PYB. I hear its made from recycled candles. And use two bottles of Lucas to play it on the safe side.

My old "boss" (assistant manager) at my old car parts job told customers it will prematurely wear out your bearings if you go from synthetic to conventional. He was stuck for words when I mentioned blends.. That poor guy hated me.

He'd just sell the customers some Lucas and call it good.

So do they only sell Eneos or Liqui-Moly or Amsoil at circle K these days?

Guess I been slumming it to much going to the Tom Thumb where they sell overpriced GTX

That's the scary part when people that should know better don't know squat and spread false information.

Yup.
I can't understand why the OP would stop there.
I'd have cracked open my investment portfolio and had her give it the once over.
