Does car have to be level when changing oil or does it matter if it is up on ramps. On my 2000protege the drain plug is at rear lowest point on oil pan.So I think more oil is coming out if car is angled being raised at front and lower at back.

You should be fine changing your oil on ramps. Some care are more picky than others though. On my VW Golf I can not drain all of the oil out no matter what I do. I would have to buy an oil vacuum if I wanted to get more out (but not much more so I dont worry). But most of the time this isn't the case. Just compare how much you get out to the capacity of the sump/filter in the owners manual.

Good luck!

get the oil a little warm, more will flow out but yes not all oil can be taken out. if the car is higher though u will get some splashing with the oil into the pan so make sure ur got a cardboard under it. i think really thats the best u can do..heheh usually i blow air through the crankcase just to get a little more out.

Needless to say... Just be sure to level it out before checking the fill.
