2007 Odyssey spark plug change

I changed the plugs on a recently bought 2007 Honda Odyssey with the 3.5 liter engine. This van has 249,000 miles and a substantial oil leak from the firewall side of the engine. The middle plug in the back had quite a bit of oil on the porcelain. The plug on the back driver side had a little oil on the porcelain. The middle plug in the front has some brown rusty paste looking stuff, I don't know what it is. Front plugs on the right of the picture, back plugs on the left.

How does this oil get into the spark plug tube?

Need to replace the spark plug tube seals,

The tube seals are often included with the valve cover gaskets. Get the Mahle gaskets from Rock Auto.

And check and adjust the valves if you're going to all that trouble especially for the rear bank.

How is the transmission?

The transmission works well. Shifts firmly, no lag. I have done two drain and fills. I used DW 1. I also installed a SVCM controller.

When I picked up my 06 Acura TL, I replaced the valve cover gaskets, spark plug tubes, spark plugs, and had the shop do a valve adjustment. The car had 159,000 at the time.
