I have a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup which I have had since new, and it currently has 20,000 miles. I've used Pennzoil synthetic the whole time.

With mileage accruing now at 1500 miles a year, is a two year OCI fine?

1500 miles per year? Nothing but Pennzoil synthetic?

Let me know when you're ready to sell it!

Unless we KNOW how you are putting on those 1500 miles per year its IMPOSSIBLE to get reliable advise IMO.

New Jersey is humid so that has to be put into the mix.

Assuming you put on 1,500 miles per year and you're short-tripping, the clear answer is "Absolutely not." Nissan recommends the following:

Quote:
Follow Periodic Maintenance Schedule 1 if your driving habits frequently includes one or more of the following driving conditions:

* Repeated short trips of less than 5 miles (8 km).

* Repeated short trips of less than 10 miles (16 km) with outside temperatures remaining below freezing.

* Operating in hot weather in stop-and-go “rush hour” traffic.

* Extensive idling and/or low speed driving for long distances, such as police, taxi or door-to-door delivery use.

* Driving in dusty conditions.

* Driving on rough, muddy, or salt spread roads.

* Towing a trailer or a car-top carrier.

Schedule 1 goes on to recommend changing the oil and filter every 3 months or 3,750 miles, whichever comes first.

If those 1,500 miles are comprised of a small number of long trips (i.e. nothing that falls under the bullet points above), the oil/filter change interval uses "Schedule 2", which indicates changing them both every 6 months or 7,500 miles, again whichever comes first.

As an aside,

Quote:
SAE 5w30 viscosity oil is preferred for all temperatures. SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 viscosity oils may be used if the ambient temperature is above -18°C (0°F).

Why would you want to push the oil oven longer past 1 year? Mileage is not the end all limit. Time is also a consideration as well as actual use/service that the engine sees.

I'd keep doing 1yr changes if your mileage is under 5k yearly with the synthetic.
