Didn't they drop out of super bowl advertising also? Dropping Facebook i can understand but not that.

It looks like Ewanick was so desperate to close the deal he turned off his analytical skills. That's an insane amount of money, even if it is one of the most-well-known sports teams in the world.
Maybe it really was marketing genius. We'll see in a few years if Chevy notices an uptick in sales outside North America.

They are and were operating under distorted rules. That's exactly why there should never be government bailouts. It distorts markets and leads to decisions such as these.

The old guard at GM still runs the company and greed is the driving force. Nothing will change untill some at the top changes.
Noting will change because the top brass at GM still vote themselves big raises and bonuses and not on product improvemnt. GM is managed by a greedy, self serving power group.

Hmmm....yes, I see...I would rather buy my cars from companies that aren't in the business for for the money...you know, like Toyota...unlike GM, they aren't about the "mighty (sic) dollar"...why just last year, Toyota only made about $3 Billion...

Hey they are diversifying their portfolio, 70% of of GM vehicles are made off US soil...saving them money...They are investing heavily in China right now, setting up 11 new factories, getting the name out there, its the new burgeoning market they have to move fast. Unfortunately it supports the Chinese growth more than home team...ushering in a greater new era of global economics has its issues I suppose.
