Men vs. Women Drivers: Part ???

What a load.

The reason women appear to have fewer accidents is that they drive, overall, fewer miles than do men. If you factor in *all* the millions of miles men drive, not only commuting, but actually driving at work -- taxis, trucks, and the like -- I think you'll find men do much, much better than women.

Okay, women may be able to "switch tasks" more quickly than men . . . but that's not always a plus in the real world.

Note the author's name -- a woman. Note the comments like women's "well-known ability of multi-tasking" (I call it Scatterbrain Syndrome) and the prevalence of loaded negative terms like "blindly" and "pride themselves," all applied to men. Biased much?

Just another item in the continual stream of man-bashing coming from the Western world's media.

Women driver's multitasking?? talking on the phone, putting on makeup, eating and drinking. Driving?? last on the list. Women shouldn't be allowed to operate anyhting bigger than a toaster oven, they do enough damage with that.

We had a girl named Kara at my high school. She was on her third car by the time she graduated. Same thing can be said about Stacey when she graduated. They didn’t go on trips. Then again, my brother is on his third car, but he drives around the country, and just can’t keep from riding bumpers. He is now 20, and has logged more miles than probably most 25 year olds. What does it prove? If you drive more miles, you are more likely to get into more accidents. But yes, the inability for women to focus on one task is not something I would call a positive trait.

I have to say I'm pretty pro-female but overall the vast majority of women on the road lack vital data receptors that allow them to safely and properly operate a motor vehicle. It's just a glitch in the brain.

Having said that it angers the p1ss outta me when I see a male driving erratically, being that we are supposed to know how to drive! C'mon, you don't have to prove that a Civic can go 75mph in a 35, trying to impress the 13 year old girls with your t-shirt, khaki shorts, shades, backwards ball cap, sandals and permanently slacked-jawed expression. Nor do you have to thump techno while riding my @ss on a four lane while I'm doing ten over. (Sorry to generalize but here at Ft. Bragg this seems to be the new standard of heroic fighting man GI sissy types.)

On a positive note, my wife has taught me a lot about safe driving. She strongly believes in "active safety" where you assume the other driver may be going to do something stupid.

However, I do cringe when I am at a stop light and see a "beat" honda civc/nissan/etc. flying toward me-braking at the last second while a young girl is talking on the cell phone, putting on makeup and tuning the radio just as it is starting to rain!

You can take that a step further and assume, based on the vehicle they're driving, what kind of bonehead moves they'll make.
