My FIL has a 2011 F150 ford pickup. He's interested in getting a "off-road" bumper to deal with the bad parking situation he has at work. He said that in the past year he's been hit 3X in the parking lot.
He's looking at an ARB-style bumper, im figuring it'll weigh 100+ lbs. Add whatever the rear bumper will weigh. His question is, does he need to do anything to the stock suspension or can it take it?

At 100+ lbs....it may sag a bit...alignment read out would be his best bet :P

seriously he needs to take a tank to work.

Or.......learn to park a little farther away from all the bump cars that infest his parking lot.

Man I worked at a shop in Long Island NY that was right next to the train commuter park and NEVER had those issues.

and btw, maybe his co workers just dont like him?

It will be fine, but to be super sure check fordtrucks.com where alot of the guys modify their trucks for off road.

i have never heard of a truck needing any suspension mods for bumpers. some guys even add big winches and things with no problems.

if theres passenger who weighs 200 pounds does the truck then act super different? then spread that weight out and lower it and I doubt you will feel any difference at all.
