What vehicle/engine? That [censored] is so unconcentrated it barely makes a difference across a whole tank.

Does not look that great to me. MSDS reveals a lot of deodorized kerosene. http://econtent.autozone.com:24999/znetcs/msds/en/US/84258 http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/3527600418.mb6474247yole5216/pdf 104 octane boost is $9.99 for 16oz and a lot of that is kerosene. Xylene is an octane boost, a gallon ( 128oz) is $18.50 at home depot. I would expect the Xylene to raise octane more than a 16oz bottle of kerosene with other things in there. And its less per oz. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klean-Strip-1-gal-Xylol-Xylene-GXY24/100406366 Some mixing info here. I'd be careful and keep it off the paint. http://www.merkurencyclopedia.com/Fuel/fuelchem.html

^^^^^^ The Nuke has a very good list here. I would add Lucas oil octane boost in the red container. In a test done it raised octane about 3 numbers as well. And to add to that... The Nuke has a really cool car to run stuff in as well.

Yes, don't buy the Gold Eagle garbage. I used to mix Xylene into my gas in my turbo Mustang Drag car. Fun times!

Any codes stored or CEL? It sounds like you may have a carbon or possibly an EGR or other issue, using this if it does anything at all is only masking the problem.

If you're using premium fuel already and still pining then there is something wrong with your car. Using octane boost is just masking the problem. Check/change the plugs, clean out the throttle body/intake, clean the MAF sensor, check the oxygen sensors, etc...

I'd also advocate trying to figure out if your car has a problem, but I will also say that I was able to find unleaded 100 octane racing gas about 20 minutes away from my work at $10/gallon and ran about 1/3 of a tank with it with the rest 93 just for fun (no noticeable difference to me, although I sure wasn't zipping around a track or anything like that with it). Makes more sense to me to use something like that if you can find it rather than additives. I stupidly ran a bottle of STP Octane Boost before finding out that it contains MMT, something I really didn't want in my tank.

You mentioned not being the only one having this problem. What are the guys on the Cayenne forums doing about it? Any working theories or practical insight from that group? What's the year and mileage? Does the pinging go away if you reset the ECU and then go directly to the usual spot/RPM/load that makes it occur? I'm not sure how your ECU works, but it might reset to a lower ignition advance multiplier, then slowly it up based on knock sensor input (i.e., no knock = keep advancing timing to max or until knock is detected, then back off just a little.)
