As you know I recently lost my job.I posted on here about OCIs on my truck since I don't drive it much now.Since the last oil change in May,I have only put 129 miles on the truck. At this rate should I just keep the OCIS at 6 months and not worry about the mileage?

Holy [censored]! what have you been doing? sitting at home all day long for the last two months? Are all those miles 2 mile trips to the grocery store?

Forget six months - change the oil once a year, if that. There have been people here that have posted UOA's on vehicles that sit that are 4 or 5 years long.

Sorry about the loss of your job. I know how that feels.

Do the bare minimum to keep yourself good in warranty terms.

One issue would be the fuel sitting that long, it may start to degrade and etc.... May be worth running a tank a month or atleast part of a tank and only refill 1/2 way.

Mabe sell the truck and pay off what ever u still own on it, the buy something little older and cheaper. then buy something new when u back on your feet again.

No,I don't sit at home. The only job leads I have had were within a 2 mile radius of my house.I go online every day to my local job search office and apply for jobs there.Other then that I do yard work, house work, and work on hobby things.BTW,the grocery store is .06 miles from my house.

At my last gas filling I added 8 oz of Stabil.

Man, sorry about your situation, some good advice from dubie, don't fill your truck up. 1/2 even 1/3 of a tank is probably a good idea. 6mo. OCI's with Motorcraft or any good deal you find on a quality oil. You basically are never getting that oil up to temp. so I would err on the side of caution. You also have a few options for grp III oils under $20 ie. QSUD, M1 Super Syn.,SuperTech Syn. so you can go that route too if you really want to be careful. That is small change over a 6mo. period to keep your truck in good condition.
