I tried keto for about 2 months, and it made me feel lethargic. I was losing weight, but I had no energy, had brain fog a lot, and my liver enzymes had crept up in bloodwork. Intermittent fasting didn't help, just made the cravings worse. When I went back to eating carbs, I felt much better. I stopped trying to follow any diet plan and just made sure my plate had a protein, fat, and carb source. I probably eat 30-50% carbs, much of it from rice and starchy veggies. My liver enzymes are back to normal, no more brain fog, and have plenty of energy.
I do most of the cooking. This is a typical meal that I make at least once a week. Pan-seared sea bass, shrimp with old bay, seasoned rice, and roasted broccoli. I'll switch it up some, replacing the rice with cubed red potatoes, the broccoli for brussel sprouts or green beans, etc... but this is the balance of my meals.
