Obesity

That's a bummer. I can understand, most of my calories come in the evening, snacking while "relaxing".
I can be the same way, so I try to drink lots of water and eat some carrots or tomatoes with salt and pepper! And then jump into bed. Or even eat a chunk of meat, pork is cheaper than dirt, and even factory farm chop with some decent fat is probably way better for you than anything "snack food" from the centre of the grocery store. No starch sides or sauce required, just some salt and pepper or whatever herbs you like.

@IndyIan, last night was my first of 3 nights. I tossed and turned for hours while my stomach growled until about 2AM, which was when I finally fell asleep. I have a lot going on in my life right now, which is not helping either, so I'm unmotivated.

OH, the wife and I myself are very guilty of using the bottled waters. I... Product placement, great advertisement , manipulation and the main one I think is simple convinence we did not have before those cursed bottles we are polluting the planet with. I am not one of those tree hugging alarmist , I just realized I am a part of it too by being addicted to having one of them with me too all the time.
We are guilty of it sometimes but to my wife's credit she many times fills up reusable waters bottles with ice and filtered water from the refrigerator.

Polluting the planet with plastic should be the least of anyones concerns. What you are not being told the chemicals from the plastics are polluting the very water you are drinking out of them. Remember plastics are from petroleum. Yet, even worst is the upcoming attention from micro-plastics in the very fresh spring water that you are drinking out of plastic bottles.
Same goes for the plastic lining in aluminum cans. They actually alter and affect the hormone levels in us.
Let us not even get into non stick cookware. It's a disaster and those chemicals are now in every human body on earth.

Im only saying this because so many people do not drink tap water because they think its unhealthy yet tap water is among the most tested water on planet earth in the USA>
Then we drink out of untested plastic bottles because we think it is better

The Covid-19 pandemic acted as the third horseman of the health apocalypse. America’s Covid death rate is still much higher than in most other advanced countries, with 339 deaths per 100,000 population compared with 254 in France, 201 in Germany and 134 in Canada....
In Canada, most people that I know are still getting regular Covid shots (about every 6 months). People do occasionally get Covid but most don't get very sick - usually a few upper respiratory symptoms and feeling crummy for a few days. The only way people know they have Covid is because their (home) Covid test is positive. Covid test kits are available at pharmacies and they're free. People with a positive Covid test tend to stay at home for a week or so, so as not to infect other people.

Other than washing our hands when we've been out, and the regular shots, we now live quite normally. Use of masks is quite rare (and you always wonder if the wearer is sick), no hand sanitizing.

The best way I've heard it put is: You get fit in the gym; you get skinny in the kitchen.
Pretty much. Activity can help keep the weight off but you still have to watch your eating habits and hydration. Athletes who have to weight in for competition understand the role diet and hydration plays in weight loss/gain better than anyone. Ask wrestlers, boxers, judokas, MMA fighters, etc if they have a diet plan. All will say yes. The scale can be just has as hard to beat as the other guy. You can be in shape and still be overweight.

Yep, I've been there, the week after Halloween... To many of the kids candies makes me crave more and more! +5lbs in a few days!
I find once I go a couple days without sugar and refined carbs, I may still get hungry but its not quite the intensity of a sugar crash hunger.
Veggies are my crutch, a whole tomato and half a cucumber fill me up, with a chunk of meat, or a couple of over easy eggs, so my inner caveman is happy so I get to sleep, and then I don't tend to wake up ravenous either.
Do some intense cardio(I find walking, I burn 72 calories and then eat 500 extra, with running its 25 min to burn the 500) and do some strength exercises so your body has some muscle mass to help burn calories.

:rolleyes:I have gone round and round with my mother-in-law over that very thing. She swears tap water will kill you. I keep telling her it is one of the most watched, treated. tested and policed things around. Probably even better than some of those bottled waters.

Last few weeks I've been having popcorn, as it's healthy, right? Seems to cause more issues in the early morning than it's worth. Bit of cheese and crackers though does a better job of filling me--it's the drinks on the side that I need to nip.

I don't think you'll find micro-plastic bits in spring water at the source. A few dozen feet of soil make a pretty good filter.

Spring water in a plastic container is a different story.

Do you know specifically how much in calories you are eating with the crackers I bet more than you think. If I was in a cut no way I’d be sitting around eating cheese and crackers that’s a recipe for failure for sure.
