Plus you got to run 20 miles to burn off a slice of bologna. It's easier to just not eat it in the first place. Starvation is more comforting than running.Running really is a filthy habit. I avoid it like the plague.

It seems with beef and lamb, they are allowed to put an implant in the animal to release hormones until slaughter, and some are synthetic hormones. It's all FDA approved and monitored, but I doubt there's a whole lot of serious investigation on the ongoing effects of the hormones on people, after the initial trials were done? What food is loaded with growth hormones?
There has very recently been an increase of concern by some medical experts that people , lots across the world_yet likely a heck of a lot more right here inside the US of A + Canada, North and even some of South America) are going to be found to have rising levels of plastic in their bodies. This stuff , being introduced into many of us thru the exclusive use of large amounts of drinking water that we purchase in plastic bottles and assorted containers. This while many of us simply ignore and or purposely go to lengths NOT to use the convinent and readily available locally provided potable water that is treated and tested to the highest of modern standards. The plastic is also coming to us via the storage of various pre-packaged food items that are stored, shipped and sold inside plastic or plastic lined containers. It seems with beef and lamb, they are allowed to put an implant in the animal to release hormones until slaughter, and some are synthetic hormones. In theory the very small increase over the natural level of hormones in the meat is harmless, although I suspect with breeding, the level of natural hormones is quite a bit higher than in the 1950's when adding growth hormone's was approved?
I suspect that the overall effect on the great majority of people isn't significant if they are eating and living relatively healthy, but maybe all these little factors add up when people aren't eating well and exercising?
I drink a ton of sparkling water and only recently switched from buying it in plastic bottles to glass; it's getting harder to find and it really drives up the price. I'm not sure it's a real cost savings but we finally bought a seltzer maker and we like it. [I might like it too much, as I like a couple ounces of juice, a couple times that of vodka, and some water & ice.] Never seen seltzer in glass. But we toss out far less plastic once we bought this maker, as we had fallen into the habit of a liter or two a day of seltzer (mostly in the evening).I drink a ton of sparkling water and only recently switched from buying it in plastic bottles to glass; it's getting harder to find and it really drives up the price. Crap, now I am down to 138I don't even eat out. I used to eat out a lot when I was in my early 20s. Weighed about 185 pounds a year ago. Down to 162.
This article seems to put the hormone concern in perspective: https://extension.sdstate.edu/hormones-beef-myths-vs-factsIt seems with beef and lamb, they are allowed to put an implant in the animal to release hormones until slaughter, and some are synthetic hormones. It's called addiction, and I have the worst form of it, food addiction. Why is it the worst? Because you need food and it's always around. I'm back up to 209 lbs.But do most of them? Or are they on a slippery slope? I have a neighbor in her sixties. She's got diabetes and she smokes and drinks. First, they amputated her toes, then her feet, then her lower legs. She's still drinking and smoking.
That's a bummer. I can understand, most of my calories come in the evening, snacking while "relaxing".It's called addiction, and I have the worst form of it; food addiction. Why is it the worst? Because you need food and it's always around. I'm back up to 209 lbs.![]()
OH, the wife and I myself are very guilty of using the bottled waters. I even have replacement filter system under the sink and yet we still grab bottled water and cant leave a store without cases of it. I think what happened is many of us over time just found those bottles of water so convinient to grab and carry all over the place. I was talking with someone about this one day and he brought up an interseting thing. How many of us ever brought water with us into the car to leave the house or had water with you at all times? Probably not many of us. Yet since the plastic water bottles have become a part of modern life, in our faces , many of us carry a bottle all the time without even thinking about it. Product placement, great advertisement , manipulation and the main one I think is simple convinence we did not have before those cursed bottles we are polluting the planet with. I am not one of those tree hugging alarmist , I just realized I am a part of it too by being addicted to having one of them with me too all the time.I drink a ton of sparkling water and only recently switched from buying it in plastic bottles to glass; it's getting harder to find and it really drives up the price. Me too, it takes me a few days to retrain myself not eat after 7PM. I was thriving with OMAD a few years ago, but I'm struggling to get back into a routine which really worked for me (fasting from 7PM to at least 11AM).That's a bummer. I can understand, most of my calories come in the evening, snacking while "relaxing".
Sparkling water in glass bottles is in the Mexican foods isle at Walmart. Not kidding.@supton, years ago my parents bought a Soda Stream and the novelty wore off real quick and, it's prepared in plastic which defeats the purpose. When I'm in the US, I find it hard to even find sparkling water; glass? Forget about it!
I ask this as someone in recovery from addiction. Are you aware there are 12 step programs (and almost certainly non-12 step options) for food addiction? It's called addiction, and I have the worst form of it, food addiction. Why is it the worst? Because you need food and it's always around. I'm back up to 209 lbs.![]()
I have an actual addiction to good, real, euro, bread, in some ways worse than heroin. People won't understand this, unless you have been there.
The problem is most people like bread...............I really love bread
