O.K. to use filter with no antidrainback valve ?

If the filter is mounted open end up you do not need it as the filter should naturally hold oil.

Make sure to look at the specs for the stock filter to see if the bypass valve is set to the correct PSI compared to oversized.

The oversized filter is no big deal so it's making sure it bypasses right, and meets all the other specs. It looks like it should be okay, it bypasses at 19 psi instead of 20 psi.

Baldwin makes so many applications there might even be one with the ADBV, it's just seeking it out.

You're sure you arent confusing the ADBV there at the threads with the bypass valve usually located at the bottom?

Just making sure you had your terminology straight. The ADBV isnt the spring loaded thing in the bottom of the can and most people assume it is.

Does the OEM filter have a valve? If the OEM filter has a valve, it probably was needed to stop a siphon effect from emptying the oil galleys.

Yes , the OEM filter has a ADBV. So maybe this filter won,t work. Does anyone think a BALDWIN B56 will work in place of a B160? The filter mounts hole up .

Do you really need an oversize filter? Seems like a lot of effort trying to find a usable replacement with respect to the important filter parameters. In addition, can size may not relate to filtering media area or media quality. Then there is the one of two valves, one of which controls the bypass pressure, and of course the thread size must be correct. OEM filters meet or exceeds your engine requirements. Just my thoughts.
