No, was overblown by Hyundai with their video comparing the OE filter to known knock-offs

The final digit of the part number on the box differs from the one on the filter...4 vs 5.

Nothing to worry about. I purchased a Hyundai filter a few years back and the box had 03 as the last 2 digits.I opened the box and it had 04 as the last 2 digits. The filter was purchased at the dealership. I questioned the parts person about it. She said it happened quite often because, the manufacturer had leftover boxes and new filters.
yes and you can put bot generation filters next to each other and not notice any differences besides the part number

Just like the counterfeit tennis shoes and designer purses from Korea. They're shipped at night time when the inspector is off duty or part of the conspiracy. Or maybe I watch too many Korean dramas.
