I put mine on over Thanksgiving, as I figured it'd get both cold and we'd have at least one snow before Christmas.
Annoying, but then again, it's not like I was going to keep the tires for 10 years. Not sure how fast they harden with age but if they are going to age out, might as well aim to wear out at the same time.

It's supposed to be near 60 on Christmas. Crazy.
The Nokians for the Cruze are noticeably harder than the brand-new Michelins for the Fit. The Nokians are also down to 6/32" in places, so this will be their fifth (and last) winter. Considering the high mileage (40k miles and counting) on them, they've been a good value.

Assuming the weather changes and I actually end up using them this season, I think this will be the 3rd and last winter for my Hakka R2s. They're down to 6 - 7/32 at the lowest spots with ~10k miles on them (the Jeep is kinda hard on tires).
Looking at the forecast, I'm thinking I might just leave the summers on for my Christmas travels. And maybe bring the snows and the jack along just in case the weather turns before I head back.

Same here, I only put 2300mi on the snow tires last season, at that rate, they'll age out before they wear out for me. So I put them on over Thanksgiving and just drive. It's gotten a lot colder in the past day, so I feel better about having them on.
