What tool do use to test the ethanol content?
Not seeing E15.......Yet

Pilot and flying j pumps all say 15% ethanol across all grades

At least they're telling you.
QT in the Chicago suburbs has 10% ethanol but also has the 88 E15 for only a few cents less.
In Beloit, WI yesterday I stopped for gas as Costco was closed and I needed to fill up to get home. Also, WI gas is cheaper than IL. Pilot was $3.69 and Speedway and Mobil were $3.99. I believe that Speedway is E10 as i stopped there last year. I wanted Speedway to use up a gift card balance but I didnt want to pay 30 cents extra.
Pilot had E15 for regular 87 and midgrade. The premium was E0 and was price $1.30 more? I wish I had taken a Pic. The usual spread for E10 fuel in Illiniois is $1-1.30 more. I would have actually filled premium in my TL to try out the E0 but I was driving my Taurus. In the TL, I usually just run 87 and take the MPG hit and save money. Ive run Premium occasionally but it has always been E10.

I searched some threads here and some thought E15 88 is worth it if it is ten cents or more cheaper. I got it anyway for the 3 cents difference because I am experimenting with it. I know the car readout has been said not to be accurate but it has displayed better MPG for my Acura TL and for my Taurus.
I thought the TL might do better with the 88 since it's supposed to get Premium but the Taurus seems to display better numbers as well.
This hasn't been a scientific experiment. I did severla hours of highway driving and the display numbers went up in both card with the E15 88 and when I ran it down and refilled with E10 87, the numbers dropped down.
I had E15 87 last week in the Taurus and thaf 2 hour drive did show lower than usual MPG displayed.
As I said in my previous post, I want to waste the extra money on the E0 91 in the TL when I'm up in Wisconsin again as Ive never run that. Ive only run E10 93 a few times. I did get better MPG to display but it never seems worth the $1-1.20 extra over 87.

At Sheetz here in PA E15 is 50 cents cheaper. 3 cents...REALLY?!
If your car is a turbo...Even if it's approved for 87 octane, it can use the 88 octane for more power. ESPECIALLY if it's hot out. Less ignition retard, less boost pull, etc.

Yeah, the 3 cents is a ripoff. If I weren't experimenting, I wouldn't have bought it out of principle. It was ten cents discount for E15 88 at Casey's in NW Indiana.
Gas buddy says my local QT in the Chicago Suburbs has a 5 cent discount for Eq5 88.
50 cents is amazing!
