Approaching Devil's Slide it started sprinkling yesterday. Note the old bunker perched on the cliff to the left. The 3/4 mile long Tom Lantos Tunnel is also ahead. Before the tunnel was built HWY 1 wounds its way around Devil's Slide. This old section of HWY 1 is open for recreation and has some nice trails that offer great views over the coastline. Parking is available right before or after the tunnel in both directions. I'll show the tunnel soon.

Honestly, I'd be the guy riding the Cherokee in the dunes and make fun of Can-Am riders for not having AC. Wonder how long it would take me to get stuck...

This alarm clock wakes me every morning - sort of. I actually wake up a split second before the bell goes off. It's a mechanical clock and I suspect it makes a tiny 'tink' sound right before the ringing starts and that's what wakes me. I'm wondering if I should disable the bell because it's loud enough to make my cats run and hide. But will I still wake up?
