(Normally, Nokian factories ship those studded.) The set I got from DT was made in mid-2016. The Hakka 7 tire was introduced in Europe in 2010. Given than Nokian announced H9, H7 might be sold new only via DT channels.

I missed that announcement from last year. I assume prices are well below typical for Nokian?

The new Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 and 7 SUV tires are available exclusively at Discount Tire and America’s Tire outlets or from the Discount Tire Direct website...
The Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 and 7 SUV tires are available in 64 sizes. The tires fit 13- to 22-inch wheels and are offered in 30 to 80 series profiles...

I guess if you want a set of budget priced, studded Hakka7 tires, you would seek out a dealer who sells the new Nordman 7 equivalent.

To answer your question... I'm not sure but think that DT prices H7's better than what they would normally sell for. I'm not that familiar with pricing of Nokian tires other than I hear they are normally expensive comparing to most other choices. The thing is that DT is running a "winter tire clearance" right now so maybe prices are better than usual because of that? Again, not sure.
