Bought the noco 5 to try repair mode on my 2019 GX460 OEM lexus battery 24f, 530 cca. Didn’t quite work as hoped. Ended up with new Everstart Plus battery - 24f ($109) - tested at 649 CCA after charge and 809 CA both better than label indicated. 2 yr warranty also.

OEM was at least 5 years old and past couple years in TX heat, so can’t complain too much.

Trying to repair an equally old duralast h7 agm from 2018 for the 911.

Both batteries failed tests using Solar battery tester.

Probably will keep the noco anyway to keep new battery topped off. Might get an h7 Everstart AGM as well.

I have 2 old AGM 24f batteries, Only one was repaired by my noco. The other one never got much better.
There is no way I would trust the repaired one, Just wanted to see if the repair mode worked.
The one that was repaired I changed due to age, still tested okish. Almost 8 years old!

I think there is a specific set of battery conditions and they exist then a battery charger with a desulfurization function might help.

Battery Minders says it can take several days to a few weeks to get a battery back to usable condition.

I try and charge and then load test a suspect battery but if it fails the load test it's probably getting replaced.

generally repair mode only does an extended desulfation phase and varying the volts/ current and absorbtion steps.

damaged plates or electrolite issues will go under the radar.
my CTEK maintenance mode works well of my lead acid batteries

Purchased a new H7 AGM from Walmart today for the 911. Old battery likely cause of warning light that came on today. Tested with my solar battery tester and it was failing again despite Noco 5 charge the other night. Old battery was duralast h7 agm from 6/2018. Again, can’t really complain. Hope I get at least 5 or 6 years out of this one - made in Germany. Was thinking about getting the H6, but same price so did the H7.

Swapped it out in WM Auto Center parking lot to return old one for core charge. That was fun. After a few hours on trickle charger - all numbers higher than labeled - CCA above 850 and CA above 1000. Voltage good too don’t remember the exact reading.
