I really doubt this opinion. However I do think the problem will show up with:
1. Use in salt belt zone.
2. Poor design of floors for water retention, or poor drainage.
3. Poor rust prevention coatings in body-in-white stage.
4. Substandard raw materials in floorboard stampings.
5. Infrequent winter / spring washing of undercarriage by owners.
6. Owners not using rubber floor mats in winter weather.
7. Owners using rubber floor mats that are allowed to overflow and trap moisture in the carpets.
I've seen the photos of Altima floor boards with holes the size of my 14's it did not happen in 1 year of neglect, this is a combination of all my observations, IMHO
