Nissan 0W-20 Factory Fill, 1.8k mi, 2023 Armada 5.6 DGI

There is always value in doing a UOA on a new engine, because you can keep an eye on when the engine is finished breaking in. The first UOA will have higher wear metals in it and as it trends downwards and settles that's when you'll know that it's done breaking in.
I like what you said, you always give good advice.

I appreciate the comments! The whole purpose of this was to make sure I didn't buy a problem vehicle. You never know these days. Look at the new Toyota Tundra twin turbo problems.

This is a followup to the previous sample at 4,038 miles. The current sample is at 7,051 miles using Valvoline Advanced 0W20 Synthetic and a Nissan 15208-9E01A Filter. It looks like there was an improvement except for the Silicon level. I haven't touched the filter or the air box and don't understand why the Silicon was down on the second sample and increased on this third sample???? Also, I'm thinking of switching over to the Restore and Protect to help mitigate deposits on the intake valves (if it would even help). I'm not interested in adding a catch can at this time. I appreciate your comments!

That is weird. Have you looked at the air filter? You should if anything just to rule it out.

I just got done checking over the air filter and piping. Filter installed properly and in good condition (no damage). Piping hose clamps are all tight. I'm scratching me head at this point.

At this point, all you can do is wait for the next UOA and see if it was just an anomaly.

Here's the regenerated sample that came through yesterday. It's worse 😬. See above for the original results (sample #3). I went through for a second time and checked the piping connections, as well as, installing a new air filter. We will see what happens at next analysis. This time I'm going to use a sample pump to minimize/eliminate and possible contamination. 7,051 miles on sample.

Edit: 3,013 on sample and not 7,051.
