Was curious about results on this unit and decided to run a sample. Lots of chatter on the Net about RTV issues and break-in metals. Cut the filter open and saw nothing to be alarmed about. I'm not certain about 0W20 in a high rpm motor but that's another discussion. The oil change consisted of Valvoline EP 0W20 and a Subaru 15208AA170 (Japan). Break-in was kept below 4,000 RPM per owners manual.

I attempted to keep the Revs down in my 2025 GR86 that I recently acquired but couldn’t control myself… I did rev the piss out of it many times in multiple gears just to open it up and exercise the drivetrain a bit. We’ll see what my analysis will look like here soon. Coming up to 1,000 miles. 🤞🏼

Hopefully no issues 🤞

Looks about right.

Maybe peek inside the oil pan drain plug hole with a borescope and see if you can see any silicone "worms" in the pickup. Probably can't though, I would guess the pickup is in a well and about 1-2 cm above the pan floor.
That subaru FF (and Japan Roki) is likely the best oil that you will ever have in the engine.
But dirty will not be best forever :)

I'll do the borescope on the next oil change. Thanks!
