Has anyone cut open the new wix xp? From what I know, they went from the full synthetic media to just a synthetic blend media like the pure one oil filters.

That's supposed to be a Purolator product!
That’s an old filter the change was more recent

It is very similar to a Purolator Boss if it has nylon backing.

Afaik No.. here is the old marketing Wix used before where they specifically listed the full sythetic media with wire backing

This filter shell game is nutty frustrating. Finally found the MP supertech a couple years ago - now that option is gone. Found the pricey Wix XP worked well in the Subaru (Fram Ultra did NOT) - now that's gone - along with the much appreciated base-end located bypass valving.
At least Subaru went back to Tokyo Roki for U.S. dealer counter parts.
And I am sticking with the Motorcraft FL-910S on Ford - and even those have excessive endcap potting issues. Jeepers!
No Made in China stuff regardless of how good it looks. (Yep just pulled a new CQ premium blue weeping pretty bad - Ford back on!)
