New walmart oil selections!

Well, my Walmart did have Ultra on clearance, it was just hiding. $21.00 for 5 quart jugs and $5.00 for single quarts. Bought 3 jugs and few single quarts.

wow.... looks like you guys were right

Stopped by my local Wally World and picked up a jug of M1 0w-40 and PU 5w30

What took em' so long to get the 0w40 in a 5qt jug??

I actually walked down my local Walmart's oil aisle the other day when with some friends, and I was taking a bit longer than usual. They had so many 0w-XX and 5w-XX weights that I was just having a hard time soaking it all in.

Not sure if they had the Havoline 0w-20 and the Royal Purple, tho. But the vast selection of Mobile 1 and even SuperTech oils was almost overwhelming at the time. Lots of Valvoline oils, but I figured that was probly standard?

I'm almost thinking about using a SuperTech synthetic, since reviews seemed to be mostly positive when researching it a few months ago.

WM next town over had two jugs of PU 5W-20 at $21, picked up those, they also had 5W-30 however, while I could use that in the IS250 [and it's actually spec'd for that year as they didn't back-cpec until 2010], I figured I'd leave the 5W-30 for someone else as I can pretty much use the 5W-20 in all my applications. Tag was up for PP 0W-20 at both WM however none on shelf. Looks like the tags were dated week 2/25/13 so maybe they did their shelves before they actually got product in; there were a lot of new tags up for oils I'm not used to seeing there, but of cours product not on shelf yet. The PP was marked at $22. They also has clearance G-Oil at $21 also, 5W-30 flavor, 4 jugs.

I scanned a bottle of QSUD 0W-20 at the WM in-town and it was still 20.97; this is my go-to oil so long as one of the two WMs near me stock it [WM in town had tags up for both QSUD and PP in 0W-20, the one next town over only had tags for PP 0W-20]. Otherwise it will become PP 0W-20 if it stays $22.

Wonder if walmart really decided to stop carrying PU lineup...anyone knows what's going on?

The pennzoil ultra that was $21 for 5qt and $5 for 1 qt was separated from the main shelf! The PU was like the other guy said "hiding" .. it was on a separate shelf nearby... but was lucky to actually find it! $21 for 5qt and $5 for 1qt is a very good deal imo!

Why would you want PU, when you can get PP for $22 / 5qt jug??

I stopped by another Walmart, and they had pretty much the same selection as everybody else has posted. The only thing that I didn't notice was the "Trop Arctic" 5w-30.

There was a few different 0w-20 oils, but I originally thought they had more 0w-30 and 0w-40 oils. Turns out that 0w-30 and 0w-40 only come in Mobile 1 jugs.

I'm willing to bet that the person who decides to buy the oil for WalMart is watching this forum closely. So you guys better be on your best behavior!!

PU is a better oil than PP.
Trop Artic not "Trop Arctic"
Mobil 1 not Mobile 1

Yep, the oil PU had an awesome additive packge. 3000+ CA, 400+ Boron plus some moly.

Just in my WM, and the oil selection was not what it used to be. No Goil, or Ultra anymore. Also, Sopus products were pretty much blown out. Only choices were really ST, Castrol, Mobil, and Valvoline.

I remember when WM had just about any kind of oil you wanted.

Just looked in the oil aisle of my local walmart. Looks like PU of all weights is gone. Which makes me sad cause thats what I use in the Saturn. Royal Purple in qts took its spot. No G-oil. Still carry ST, Mobil, Valvoline, QS, Castrol, and Pennzoil.

Kinda looks like walmart purposely made each oil brand have 1 conventional and 1 synthetic, with multiple weights. So 2 oil choices per brand...kinda interesting.
